A force for transformation rooted in community, dignity and sustainable development.
FONDATION LA FACE was established in 2010 by a group of passionate community leaders who witnessed first-hand the compounding effects of poverty, poor health infrastructure, and lack of educational access in rural communities.
The name "LA FACE" β meaning "The Face" in French β embodies our belief that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered. We put a human face on development work, reminding ourselves and our partners that statistics represent real people with real dreams.
Over 14 years, we have grown from a local initiative into a multi-sectoral foundation with national reach, influencing policy, partnering with international organizations, and building community-led institutions that outlast any single project.
Every decision begins and ends with the communities we serve. Local voices shape our strategies.
We build programs designed to thrive long after our direct involvement ends.
Full accountability to our donors, partners, and the communities we impact.
Addressing systemic inequalities with gender-sensitive, inclusive programming.
Embracing new approaches, technology and knowledge to maximize impact.
Acting locally while connecting to global frameworks like the UN SDGs.
To empower individuals and communities through integrated programs in education, entrepreneurship, health, environment, agriculture, and fishing β creating self-reliant, dignified and prosperous communities.
A world where every community, regardless of geography or circumstance, has the capacity, resources, and opportunity to define and achieve its own flourishing future.
Six integrated pillars of sustainable community development.
We believe education is the most powerful lever for lasting change. Our Education Program works to ensure every child and adult has access to quality, relevant learning opportunities.
Economic empowerment is central to our theory of change. We equip aspiring entrepreneurs β especially women and youth β with the skills, networks, and seed capital needed to launch and scale businesses.
Good health is a foundation for everything else. We work to make quality healthcare accessible, affordable, and culturally appropriate for the communities we serve.
Communities on the frontlines of climate change need both immediate resilience support and long-term environmental stewardship. We combine ecological action with livelihood solutions.
Smallholder farming is the backbone of rural economies. We provide training, tools, and market access to help farming families thrive and contribute to national food security.
Coastal and river fishing communities face unique challenges β from dwindling stocks to climate-driven disruptions. We equip them with sustainable practices and stronger market connections.
